The work ‘Noa’ is supposed to be primarily a critique of sexual violence, chauvinism, patriarchy, and militarism. It is a critique of the power of uniforms that has been creating a cult of power for centuries with the aim of protecting our freedom, while at the same time schizophrenically placing the consciousness of male power over others, like in the case of Noa Pothoven. She had to face sexual harassment as soon as at the age of eleven, and at the age of fourteen, she was raped by two men.
After the initial contemplation of what could have shaped a human to such a strong urge to be able to sexually harm another person, on top of that a child, I turned my attention from those harsh themes to the idea of freedom. From the existentialist point of view, to take one's own life seems to be the only true freedom. However, even this idea did not satisfy me while creating my work, and despite a brief reflection on the phenomenon of forgiveness, I found a suitable phrase for the sculpture: calm, peace, and serenity. However, this returns me, strengthened, to the ‘inception’, which is built on the lives and deaths of whole generations," .
In addition to creating and exhibiting the sculpture, I went on a hunger strike for the last ten days before the opening in the Space Gallery (June 1, 2020) as part of the work.
The Dutch girl Noa Pothoven had been suffering from severe depression since the attack, on the basis of which she wanted to undergo euthanasia. She was not allowed to do that due to her young age, and so at the age of only seventeen, accompanied by her parents, she decided to voluntarily die of exhaustion caused by thirst and hunger.

History changes, words remain.
Nigger comes from the Latin dictionary and means "black".
Unlike the word Slav, it is not a direct synonym for slavery.
The word Slav has had the symbolism of slave and slavery since the early Middle Ages. - Slav; esclave - Slave; esclavo - Eslavo, atd. These phrases persist to this day in the vast majority of dictionaries of Western and Southern Europe, or even the vocabulary of Old Arabic.
The earlier name by which, until the Middle Ages, the Germans referred to the Slavs was the term Venedi. Some sources equate the two terms. The term "Vendi" was used as early as the sixth century by the Gothic historian Jordanes in his work Getica.
In German, Spanish, Latin and other vocabulary, the word vende means sale or sale by auction. Whether the connection is the same as that of Slav(e), that is, that these people are destined to be sold, is, of course, a question.
For a thousand years, raiders hunted Slavs as a profitable commodity. Avars, Mongols, Tartars, Khazars, Franks and Slavs themselves, Muslims, and Christians alike, hunted Slavic pagans as slaves. Kidnapped people were sold as commodities for ten centuries to Western Europe, East Asia, the Cordoba Caliphate, Baghdad, the Fatima Caliphate in North Africa, etc.
From the western slave trade centers of Prague, Magdeburg, Dortmund, Cologne, and Reims, they traveled south or to the Rhineland. The male slaves were all, without exception, castrated before being sold.
The numbers of kidnapped men were not low. Historians estimate that the Tatars of the Crimea alone, in their raids northwards during the so-called 'harvesting of the steppes' in the 15th to 18th centuries, dragged as many as three million people from Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Poland into slavery.
Slav slaves served as servants, prostitutes, slave mercenaries and artisans. Many achieved high official positions or artistic recognition in slavery.
The slaveholder countries' desire to live in comfort at the expense of slaves from around the world led to a breeding of a sense of superiority. For a generation, the slaveholder states and the people in them regarded the Slavic peoples as inferior.
Consciously, unconsciously, learnedly. In some countries the feeling of superiority towards Slavic countries persists to this day.
The former slaveholder nations never trusted the Slavs, just as the slaveholder does not trust his slave, and the Slavic countries never fully trusted the former slaveholder countries, just as the slave does not trust the slaveholder. The broken words of agreements and international treaties in ancient and modern history are reflected in the long-standing tensions and misunderstandings between the peoples of East and West, even to this day.
Every nation fears subjugation. But the fear of being a slave again is dangerous. Fear for freedom feeds old habits: to see the world in black and white, and not to perceive that the history of humanity is an evolution in the context of time, and words and their ancient meanings are only milestones.
